A personal tool for Irish workers with multiple jobs: explore how tax credits and rate bands are allocated, and estimate a year-end refund or underpayment through a web app or CLI.
The problem
Make the relationship between multiple employments, tax allocations, and year-to-date figures easier to explore through a focused calculation tool.
The implementation
Python calculation and validation logic is kept separate from the command-line interface and Flask web app. Both interfaces expose the same underlying financial calculations, with a dedicated unittest suite and documented setup instructions.
Skills in practice
The project combines financial rule modelling, input validation, and automated testing. Keeping calculations independent of the interface makes the core logic easier to inspect and reuse.
